The short version
Phorest does not publish a price. On October 19, 2026, its US pricing page listed four salon plans, Starter, Grow, Complete Advantage and Elite, and every one carried a Request a quote button and no number. The page says the plans suit salons and med spas with three or more staff, and that every plan includes unlimited staff and unlimited devices. There is no free trial; you get a demo instead. Quote-based pricing is normal for software sold with setup and training included, so it is not a trick. But it means you cannot compare Phorest with platforms that publish prices until you have had the call. Go in knowing your staff count, the features you would really use, and the five questions below.
Phorest is one of the platforms I wire into salon websites, and I have no arrangement with it or with anyone it competes with. Everything here comes from Phorest’s US pricing page, checked on October 19, 2026. If you land on the Irish version of the page, the plan names differ slightly, so use the US one.
What does Phorest’s pricing page actually show?
Four plans, each building on the one before, and a set of add-ons that can be bolted onto any plan. No prices, and no SMS rate beyond the phrase “affordable SMS rates”.
| Plan | What it adds | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | Booking and point of sale, online booking with deposits, email and text reminders, review requests, reporting, the PhorestGo app, the marketing suite, stock, payment links | Request a quote |
| Grow | Consultation forms sent before the appointment, Phorest Reconnect, a digital loyalty card, an online store, Reserve with Google, Shopify, Buy Now Pay Later on PhorestPay terminals | Request a quote |
| Complete Advantage | Online Reputation Manager, staff goals, client referrals, an AI client summary. Marked most popular | Request a quote |
| Elite | A salon-branded iOS and Android app, two-way texting, memberships | Request a quote |
Two things on that table matter more than they look. Memberships and two-way texting sit on the top plan, and both are also sold as add-ons to the lower ones. And Buy Now Pay Later only works if you take payments on Phorest’s own terminals. Both are things to ask about by name.
Why does Phorest ask for a call?
Its pricing page answers this itself. Phorest does not offer a free trial. It offers a demo, and every plan includes setup: it imports your clients, staff, services and products for you and trains your team, with more training whenever you hire. Pricing that has to cover a person doing your migration tends to be quoted, not listed.
There is a second reason, and it is the one to keep in mind on the call. A quoted price can move with what gets added. The plan you are shown on the demo might be the one you need, or it might be the top one with three add-ons. Neither is wrong, but you should know which.
Five questions to ask on a Phorest call
- What is the monthly price for my plan, at my staff count, in writing? Every plan includes unlimited staff, so ask whether the price changes as you hire.
- How long is the contract, and what does it cost to leave early? The pricing page does not say.
- What does each text message cost? The page says “affordable SMS rates” and gives no number for the salon plans.
- What is the card rate on PhorestPay, and do I have to use it? Some features on the page depend on Phorest’s own terminals.
- Which of the features you showed me are add-ons? Memberships, two-way texting, the branded app and Ads Manager are all listed as things you can add to any plan.
Write down what you pay today for booking, card processing and texting, as three separate numbers. A quote you can hold against your own bill is much easier to judge than a quote you hold against a demo.
How does that compare with platforms that publish prices?
These are the published prices I checked the same day, for a sense of the range. They are not like-for-like, because each one includes different things.
| Platform | Published price |
|---|---|
| Fresha | $19.95 solo, or $14.95 per bookable team member |
| Vagaro | $30 solo, up to $90 for seven or more |
| GlossGenius | $28 Standard, $56 Gold (up to 9 staff), $168 Platinum |
| Boulevard | $159 Essentials (up to 5 providers), $325 Premier, $455 Prestige |
| Phorest | Not published. Request a quote |
Phorest’s own page aims it at salons with three or more staff. A solo stylist is not who it is built for, and one of the published platforms will almost always be simpler. The booking software comparison goes through five of them by team size.
What the website does on Phorest
Phorest has its own online booking, and your site’s job is to get people to it ready to book: prices visible, your work at full size, one Book button that goes straight to your Phorest booking page rather than a contact form. That is how I set up hair salon sites and day spa sites on Phorest, and the site stays the same if you ever change platform.
Plan contents from Phorest’s US pricing page, checked October 19, 2026. Other platforms’ prices from their own pricing pages the same day. All of these change. Check the live pages before you commit.
