What to wear
Whatever you drove in. You will change into a robe within four minutes of arriving and everything else goes in a locker. For bodywork, undress to whatever you are comfortable with. The draping works either way, and most people leave underwear on. We wrote that out properly in what to wear, what to leave on.
Skip heavy jewellery and leave the good watch at home, not because anything goes missing but because taking it off and putting it back on is four minutes you would rather spend in the courtyard.
What to say
Say the thing you would normally not mention. Pregnancy, a recent surgery, a medication that thins your blood, a shoulder that has never been right since 2019, a scent that gives you a headache. None of it is an inconvenience and all of it changes what happens next.
During the treatment, say the number. Pressure is a scale out of ten and seven is the useful target. Nobody is offended by "a bit lighter through here", and the alternative is an hour spent bracing.
What nobody will do
Nobody will suggest a package, add a service at the table, or hand you a bottle on the way out. There is no retail shelf here on purpose: it is very hard to give honest advice about a product you earn commission on.
