The room · six therapists

One quiet hour at a time.

Six therapists across six rooms, which means the whole building is doing six things at once and never more. Three of them lead a particular treatment, and if you have a preference it is worth saying when you book rather than hoping.

Stillwater / The practitioners
Lead therapist · owner

Naomi Tanaka

LMT, twelve years. Studied shiatsu in Kyoto and deep tissue in Seattle, which is an unusual pair and shows in how she works: structural pressure applied with a lot more patience than most deep-tissue training produces.

Opened Stillwater in 2019 and still takes a full table five days a week, which is the reason her diary is the tightest here.

The forest hour and the deep ninety are hers. Deep work →

Esthetician · LMT

Eleanor Reyes

Eight years, and trained in herbalism at Bastyr before she trained in skin. She blends the compress herbs and the oil line here, in small batches, which is why they smell like a plant rather than a product.

Will tell you inside five minutes if a botanical hour is not the right treatment for what you came in with, and give you two names in town.

The face is hers. The botanical hour →

Maren Holm

Six years. Hot stone, hot towel, and the water sequence, which she wrote the current version of after two winters of arguing about the order.

Climbs in the Olympics on her days off and is the person to book if you have arrived at something between an injury and a bad habit.

The water sequence is hers. Cold, hot, mineral, rest →

The other three

Three more licensed therapists work the rooms alongside Naomi, Eleanor and Maren, on rotating days. They take the forest hour, the mineral soak reservations and the couples room, and they are held to the same intake, the same pressure scale and the same silence.

We do not list them individually because they rotate and because we would rather not build a hierarchy of names on a page. If you have had a good hour with somebody, ask for them by name next time and the desk will know exactly who you mean.

Six rooms, six therapists

The building has never had a seventh treatment room and will not get one. Every therapist here has one room for the day, sets it up in the morning and turns it over themselves between clients, which is a slower way to run a spa and the reason nobody is ever rushed out of a room.

It also means the ceiling is hard. About thirty-six hours of treatment on the calendar in a day and that is that. Booking a week out is not a queue-management tactic; it is arithmetic.

Ask for a name.

Or say what you need and let the desk route it. Either works and one of them is faster.
