— Getting here
Red awning.
Pole in the window.
2977 Edgewood Ave NE, on the north side of the street between the print shop and the window that sells fish plates on Fridays. The sign is hand-painted and the barber pole still turns, which is how most people find us the first time.
Parking. Meters on Edgewood run until six, two-hour limit, and they turn over quickly. There's a free lot behind the building off the Krog side: eleven spaces, first come. After six the meters are free and there's usually room out front.
Transit. MARTA King Memorial is a nine-minute walk. The streetcar stops two blocks west at Edgewood and Hilliard.
Getting in. The entrance is at grade, no step at the door, and there's room to bring a chair between stations. Restroom is at the back on the left.
How the walk-in list works
— Reaching us
Phone, payment, parties.
Cancellations, the ten-minute grace and the kids' rate all live on shop policies.
01
The phone
(404) 555-0188 rings on the counter. If nobody picks up it's because all four of us are cutting. Give it thirty seconds and try again, or text the same number. There's no receptionist here and there isn't going to be one.
02
Card or cash
Card, tap and cash. No checks. Tips go on the reader or in hand. Fifteen to twenty percent is the going rate and nobody is counting. There's an ATM in the print shop next door if you'd rather tip cash.
03
Groups and after hours
Groomsmen, teams, anything over four heads at once: email hey@kingsmen.atl and we'll open the shop early on a Monday for you. Monday is the one day the whole floor is free.
