Describing nail art is genuinely hard and almost nobody is good at it. “Kind of a marble but not too busy” means eight different things. A photo takes four seconds and settles the shape, the density and the palette at once.
It does not have to be achievable as-shot. Half of what circulates is press-on sets photographed off the hand, at a length nobody types with. Your tech will tell you which parts transfer and which do not, and that conversation is much better before the appointment than at minute fifty.
A full-hand hand-painted scene is two to three hours and it is a different kind of appointment: booked with the tech who does it, deposit taken, reference agreed in advance. It is the only thing on this site that we would describe as commissioned rather than booked.
It is also the only thing where we will occasionally say no. If a design needs a length your nails will not carry, or a level of detail that will not survive a week of your job, you will hear that instead of paying two hundred dollars for something that chips on Thursday.
On every service, on every fill, every time. It costs us about forty cents of powder and ninety seconds. Charging five dollars a nail for it is margin, not cost.
Tier one, always, no extra time. Tier two, yes, if you say when you book so the slot is fifteen minutes longer. Tier three needs its own appointment.
As long as the set under it, with one exception: hand-placed gems on the fingertips of your dominant hand. Those go. Put them on the ring and middle fingers and they last the full three weeks.
We will take it as a reference and change it enough to be our own, which is both an ethics thing and a practical one, because their length and your nails are different anyway.
