The door
East side of Twelfth between Union and Spring. Grey, plain, no signage, with a buzzer panel to the right and the number in small vinyl at eye height. Push it during opening hours; it is unlocked.
Stairs immediately on the left, one flight, and the studio door is at the top. There is a sofa on the landing and a dog on the sofa.
Parking
Paid street parking on Twelfth, two-hour maximum, which is not enough for a four-hour session. The lot on Union a block north takes all-day and is the right answer for anything booked; the residential blocks east of Twelfth are permit-zoned and are enforced properly.
If you are in for a day session, use the lot. People try the street every week and it costs them a break in the middle of the day.
Transit
Capitol Hill Link station is a nine-minute walk north. The 2, 10 and 12 all stop within two blocks. There is a bike rack in the alley behind the building and one on the street outside.
If you are late
Ring (206) 555-0114. Fifteen minutes on a four-hour block is fine. Past thirty, on a day booked as a full day, the honest answer is that we finish what fits and the rest becomes another session, because the artist after you booked a start time as well.
