The practice · one NP

Every face. Every visit.

One nurse practitioner does every injection, every laser pass and every consultation in this building. There is no rotating staff and no aesthetician working under a licence signed off from another state, which is more unusual in this industry than it should be.

Ten faces
a day

Why one practitioner

Aesthetic medicine is a judgement discipline dressed as a technical one. Anybody can be taught to place a needle correctly in a week. Knowing when not to, and being able to see what a face is doing over four years rather than at one appointment, takes considerably longer and does not transfer between people.

So the same person sees you every time, remembers what was done in March, and can tell you that the thing you are asking for in October is the result of the thing you asked for in March. That continuity is the actual product here and it is the reason the practice is deliberately capped at ten faces a day.

The background

Critical care nursing in Tucson first, then aesthetics from 2015, and Cedar & Glow since 2018. The critical care background matters more than it sounds: the complications that matter in this field are vascular, and recognising a vascular occlusion in the first ten minutes is a nursing skill rather than an aesthetic one.

Hyaluronidase is on site, in date, and in a drawer everyone can find. That sentence is the single most useful question you can ask any injector anywhere.

What she will tell you no about

Filler in a face that needs skin treatment. A second syringe before two weeks have passed. Tear trough on anatomy that will not carry it, which is about half the people who ask. Laser in June. And any treatment where the honest answer is that you look well and the thing bothering you is not visible to anybody else.

That last one happens at least once a week and it is why people drive past three other places to get here.

Asked often.

Who performs the treatments at Cedar & Glow?

One board-certified nurse practitioner, DNP and FNP-BC, injecting since 2015. She performs every injection, every laser pass and every consultation. Nobody else holds a needle here.

What should I ask an injector before treatment?

Whether hyaluronidase is on site and in date, who is actually performing the treatment, and what they would decline to do. The first question is the most important one and almost nobody asks it.

Why do you only see ten patients a day?

Because the product here is judgement and continuity, not throughput. The same person needs to remember what was done in March in order to explain what your face is doing in October.

The same person, every time.

Thirty minutes to start with, at no charge, and no treatment on the day you first walk in.
