Treatments · $13–16 a unit

Rested, not done.

Neuromodulator is the most requested treatment here and the one most often over-delivered elsewhere. The whole skill is in dosing conservatively enough that the result reads as sleep rather than as surgery.

Cedar & Glow / Botox & Dysport
01
Glabella · the elevens

The vertical lines between the brows. The original licensed indication and still the area where the effect is most obvious to everybody except the patient.

20–25 u
$260–400
02
Forehead · horizontal lines

Treated conservatively and never in isolation. Relaxing the forehead without the glabella lets the brow-depressors win, which is where a heavy brow comes from.

8–16 u
$104–256
03
Crow’s feet

Around the outer eye. Softens at rest and keeps most of the movement when you smile, which is the point rather than a limitation.

12–20 u
$156–320
04
Lip flip

Two to four units at the vermilion border to roll a little more lip outward. Subtle, cheap, lasts perhaps eight weeks, and is not a substitute for filler.

2–4 u
$26–64
05
Masseter

For clenching, jaw tension and, over time, a softer jaw angle. Frequently the most useful thing on this page and the one people arrive knowing least about.

40–50 u
$520–800
Timing Onset
3–5 days

Full effect
10–14 days

Follow-up
two weeks,
included

Repeat

Masseter

What a unit is

A measure of biological activity, not volume, and it is not comparable between products. Dysport units are roughly a third the strength of Botox units, which is why the per-unit price differs and why a Dysport treatment involves more units for the same effect. Any clinic quoting a flat per-area price rather than per-unit is deciding your dose in advance.

Here you are told the units before anything is drawn up, and you are charged for what goes in. If the plan was fifty and forty-two did the job, you pay for forty-two.

Why conservative

Two reasons, one aesthetic and one physiological.

The aesthetic one is obvious: a face with no movement in the upper third reads as treated from across a room, and the people who look best are the ones nobody can tell about. The physiological one is less discussed: the muscles being treated atrophy slightly with sustained use of neuromodulator, so somebody dosed heavily for eight years needs less than somebody dosed lightly, and looks different in ways that were never chosen.

The practical version is that we would rather you returned at four months than looked frozen at two, and that a first treatment here is usually a little lighter than you expected. It is easier to add at the two-week follow-up than to wait out an overdose for three months.

The two-week follow-up

Included, always, and not upselling. Full effect lands at ten to fourteen days, and that is the only honest moment to judge a result. About a third of first treatments get a few more units then; a handful need nothing; nobody is charged for the appointment.

Asked often.

How many units of Botox do I need?

Twenty to twenty-five for the glabella, eight to sixteen for the forehead, twelve to twenty for crow’s feet, and forty to fifty for masseter. You are told the number before anything is drawn up and charged for what actually goes in.

How long does Botox take to work?

Onset at three to five days and full effect at ten to fourteen. Judging a result before two weeks is judging an unfinished treatment, which is why the follow-up is at two weeks and is included.

What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?

Different formulations of the same toxin, with different unit strengths: a Dysport unit is roughly a third of a Botox unit, so the per-unit price and the number of units both differ for the same result.

Will Botox make my forehead look heavy?

It can, if the forehead is treated without the glabella. Relaxing the muscle that lifts the brow while leaving the ones that pull it down lets the depressors win. We do not treat the forehead in isolation.

Does Botox for masseter help with clenching?

Yes, and it is the treatment people arrive knowing least about. Forty to fifty units softens clenching and jaw tension, and over repeated treatments the jaw angle softens as well. It lasts four to six months rather than three.

Lighter than you expected.

Adding at two weeks is easy. Waiting out an overdose for three months is not.
